I had a couple of fifty dollar bills that were severely damaged recently and I brought it to my local bank but they refused to exchange it for new money because of the extend of the damage. I was told by the bank clerk that I could take it to the BEP instead, so I did.. The BEP duly reimbursed me for the damaged currency and I treated myself to a steak dinner that day :) According to them, as long as one half of the note remains intact, its redeemable!
